Co-Alliance Delivers Big at Purdue Ag Week
Apr 14, 2023
Purdue's Ag Week 2023 is wrapping up today and Co-Alliance delivered in a big way throughout the week.
Wednesday was Ag Expo, where agriculture groups came onto campus to visit with students. Co-Alliance was a major sponsor of this event because of the value we find in coming to campus to visit with students who value agriculture. What a day! Co-Alliance handed out 1,500 giant mugs to students, and visited with a wide range of people, from freshman through graduate students. We were also able to catch up with our 2023 interns who go to Purdue! The Marketing team organized this day and Kylie Casbon from our HR team was also on hand to visit with students about internships and career opportunity. What a great asset Kylie was when working to connect with students!
After the expo we had the opportunity to sit down with five students and visit on Cultivated, a Podcast delivered by Co-Alliance. We’re so excited to share those conversations with you soon.
Finally, on Thursday Chris Mirick and Baxter Holdcroft from the Legacy Feed team participated in Hammer Down Hunger. Between the hours of 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM 60,588 meals were packed for Pack Away Hunger! Food security is something Co-Alliance values greatly and we’re so glad we had employees there to be a part of this valuable initiative.
This week on the blog we invite you to look through photos of our time at Purdue Ag Week. We’re so excited about the connections we made with so many students, the work being done on campus to educate those not closely tied to agriculture and the future of our industry.

On Tuesday Josh Kandel, Safety, and Tom Blackwell, Grain, took the grain simulator trailer onto the West Lafayette campus and invited students to learn first hand how quickly grain entrapment can happen, and how difficult it is to get out. More than 60 students participated in the simulator, and dozens more watched the action. Those brave enough to get in the bin were rewarded with a life lesson and a free t-shirt.
