Kevin Still to Be Inducted into the Cooperative Hall of Fame

Dec 04, 2025

The Cooperative Hall of Fame will honor Kevin Still, President & CEO of Keystone Cooperative, for his visionary leadership and lasting contributions to the cooperative movement by inducting him into the Cooperative Hall of Fame.

Established in 1974 by the National Cooperative Business Association and administered by the Cooperative Development Foundation, the Cooperative Hall of Fame is the highest honor the U.S. cooperative community bestows on individuals who have made heroic contributions to cooperatives.

Still’s journey began at Pulaski County Farm Bureau Co-op, but his impact has been transformational. Rising through the ranks to lead Keystone Cooperative, he spearheaded the consolidation of seven legacy cooperatives into one of the nation’s most influential farmer-owned organizations. Today, Keystone is the 7th largest agricultural retailer in the U.S., CountryMark’s largest fuel retailer, Indiana’s largest swine management company and the 13th largest propane provider nationwide.

Under Still’s leadership, Keystone has grown into a $3 billion enterprise serving 20,000 farmer-members across Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, and Ohio, with nearly 2,000 employees and 245 facilities. His creation of the LLP model for Co-Alliance preserved local identities while enabling scalable growth, a strategy that culminated in the historic 2024 merger of Co-Alliance and Ceres Solutions.

“Kevin Still stands as a defining example of the cooperative spirit in action,” said Bill Peters, Keystone Board Chairman. “His vision and dedication have transformed not only Keystone Cooperative but the entire cooperative landscape. Our members are direct beneficiaries of his tireless work on their behalf.”

Kevin Still’s dedication to farm families runs far deeper than business strategy; it is a personal mission to protect and preserve the livelihoods of those who feed America. His leadership has consistently championed the rights of farmers and reinforced the cooperative model as a source of strength and security. For Still, success is never about one farm; it is about safeguarding an entire way of life. His commitment reflects a leader who not only envisions a stronger cooperative system but actively builds, protects, and ensures its prosperity for generations to come.

Focused on finding solutions for Keystone’s farmer members and throughout the agricultural cooperative system, Still led strategic mergers and promoted innovative governance models to strengthen influence in the marketplace. He scaled the cooperative enterprise while preserving core values and financial health, investing in rural communities and agricultural innovation.

“Kevin’s unwavering dedication to the cooperative system and the agriculture industry has left an enduring mark on rural America,” said Beth Ford, President and CEO, Land O’Lakes, Inc. “His visionary leadership and commitment to innovation have strengthened the cooperative model and created opportunities for countless farmers and growers to thrive. Kevin embodies servant leadership, and his influence will continue to shape the future of agriculture for generations to come.”

His influence spans from local communities to the national stage. With more than two decades of service in leadership roles – including his current position as Chairman of CoBank’s Board of Directors - Still has played a pivotal role in shaping rural policy and driving infrastructure investment strategies that strengthen cooperatives nationwide.

“Kevin’s induction into the Cooperative Hall of Fame is a well-deserved recognition of his visionary leadership and lifelong commitment to advancing the cooperative model. From leading Keystone Cooperative through remarkable growth and innovation to championing rural communities through his work with CoBank and beyond, Kevin exemplifies the very best of cooperative values. We congratulate Kevin on this honor and celebrate his impact on agriculture and rural America,” said Tom Halverson, CoBank’s chief executive officer.

Still’s influence also spans academia, civic leadership, and agricultural advocacy: he served with the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives (NCFC), the National Foundation of Agribusiness Management Education, and many other local organizations. In 2022, Purdue University Agriculture Alumni Association honored him with the Certificate of Distinction for his decades of work influencing policy, business models, and cooperative education across the country, - despite being a University of Iowa graduate.

The induction ceremony will take place in October 2026 in Washington, DC. For more information, visit https://www.cdf.coop/post/announcing-the-2026-cooperative-hall-of-fame-inductees.
